We spent a wonderful week with Scott's family at Ocean Isle Beach!
We headed out early on Sunday morning and surprisingly only had to stop once - pretty impressive for us!
The kids were so excited to be back at the beach and also so excited to have Mae as a beach buddy!
Jacob and Lydia quickly employed Grandaddy and Uncle Michael to build castles for them. It was definitely a step up from Mommy's buildings on our Edisto trip!
Uncle Michael even built the kids a tunnel, which provided lots of entertainment!
Mae loved the strap on Jacob's hat and went for it every chance she got. He was so patient and gentle with her. If only he could be that way with his sister!
When they weren't playing on the beach, the kids were living it up in the condo. Mae loved following the big kids around and they loved "taking care" of her while they played together. It was really sweet to watch them having so much fun!
A perk of the condo, "Mangey the Fox," visited nightly hoping for table scraps!
We had quite a bit of rain during our trip. Luckily we had some fun outings at Publix and the Coastal Science Museum.
Scott and I were able to sneak away for a lunch date during naptime one afternoon. We enjoyed lunch at a nearby restaurant and Italian ice afterwards. We contemplated taking a nap in the van before heading back up to the kids!
We had an early birthday celebration for Grandma!
While we weren't too successful in getting a good big group photo, we did manage some cute cousin pictures and even a decent family picture!
Not only did we get to spend the week with family, but we also got to spend an afternoon with some of our favorite friends! The Houston's beach trip overlapped one day of our trip, so we were able to have some beach and pool time together! We hardly ever get to see the Houstons, so it was extra special to get some hang-out time at the beach!
We're so thankful for a great week together!
