Good-bye February!

Lydia keeps getting bigger (and cuter - if that's possible!) everyday! She is so long and almost outgrew these overalls before I even put them on her!

A year ago today, we found out I was pregnant. At the time, I couldn't picture how another baby would fit into our family. Now I can't imagine our lives without her! She is definitely the piece that completes us!

We've really enjoyed getting to see Grandma and Grandaddy so much over the past month or so. They're traveling the next 6 weeks, but we got to see them both last week before they left. Grandma came on Monday and was incredibly kind to help me clean our house!!!! Then Grandaddy came on Wednesday, and we went to the library for story time. Jacob wasn't impressed with the "moose hat" craft, but Grandaddy was a good sport!

On Friday we went to Jack's house to play! Jacob and Jack have been buddies since they were born. Jack loved Lydia and was so sweet with her. It was fun to let the boys play and for Erin & I to have time to catch up!

I really needed to catch up on some rest, so last weekend Meme offered to let Lydia and I come over while Jacob and Daddy had a boy's weekend! Meme was so generous to take care of Lydia while I slept and rested. The guys had a blast going to Hands On, Blue Sky Cafe, and Fletcher Park. Even though  I missed my boys, it was so nice (and much needed) to have a little break from my daily Mommy duties!

We've been taking advantage of the warm weather by taking walks and playing at the park. It's hard to believe that this time last year Jacob was still scared to go down the slides alone and now you can't pull him away! It's bittersweet to watch him leave the toddler stage as he becomes more and more of a little boy!

Happy Valentine's Day! ♡

We had a fun Valentine's Day together! Jacob was really excited about making a "Balentimes" heart cake, especially adding the icing and sprinkles!

Daddy and Jacob put the exersaucer together for Lydia. She really likes to be upright these days so she can watch her big brother!

I was able to go to Wee Trade (children's consignment sale) last weekend, which I always look forward to. It was slightly stressful though, because Lydia wouldn't take much of her bottle while I was gone. I had to go back and forth to feed her. But we made it work, and I'm really excited that I found a double jogging stroller for the kids! I also found this "back-etball" jersey for Jacob.

And I had to include these cute pictures of Daddy and the kids reading bedtime stories!

Jacob was been really into snuggling this week! He begged me to let him hold "Baby Girl" and then gave me this face for a picture!

And last of all, we celebrated Nolan's 1st Birthday yesterday! He slept through most of his party, but when he was awake he wanted hang with Lydia and I!

Lydia is 3 Months Old!

As always, I'm late posting, but wow! It's hard to believe that our sweet Lydia Kate is 3 months old! She is changing daily and continues to bring so much joy and love to our little family!

At 3 Months, Lydia...

▪Weighs about 13 pounds and 3 ounces
▪Is about 25 inches long
▪Is ready to move up to size 2 diapers
▪Mostly wears 3 month clothing, except for jammies - she is so long that she has to wear 6 month PJ's
▪Rolled over (tummy to back) for the first time on January 29th!
▪Loves to watch Jacob - She follows his every move!
▪Has made HUGE improvements with her car seat! The screaming/crying in the car has dramatically decreased!
▪Is very interested in her hands/arms - loves to swing and wave arms, as well as bat at dangling toys
▪Has become very distracted while nursing - unless she's sleepy and/or super hungry, she's constantly off and on trying to look at Jacob or looking at her waving arm (not fun for Mommy!)
▪Can OFFICIALLY drink from a bottle!!! Up until a week or so ago, she was only taking about 1/2 an ounce, and that was a struggle. But something clicked, and now she's taking 2 - 3 ounces - even from Daddy! This is incredibly exciting for me! It took 8 (long, stressful) weeks to get here! (Update - she has since decided to stress Mommy out by refusing her bottle, again.)
▪Still loves bath time!
▪Wants to sit up during awake time - tried out and loves the Bumbo Seat and high chair!
▪Mostly sleeps good stretches at night, but has trouble napping during the day unless being held
▪Smiles ALL the time! ♡
▪Did her first true laugh!

Here's a picture of Jacob at 3 months. They have the same surprised expression!

RV and Boat Show!

Today might have been the best day of Jacob's life. We went to the RV and Boat Show at the AG Center with Grandaddy. I mean, come on - big vehicles AND Grandaddy? Does it get any better than that? I'm not sure who had more fun!

"Come on, Grandaddy! Let's hide!"

This Class A was on sale for only 400,000!

We had such a fun morning and made lots of sweet memories!
