Father's Day Weekend

We had so much fun celebrating our favorite Dad over Father's Day weekend! On Saturday we had a family outing at the NC Arboretum. We had a picnic and "hiked" around the grounds. The flowers were beautiful and there was even a train exhibit!

That evening we had a cookout in our backyard, and Jacob played in the sprinkler. We attempted a fire, but the wood didn't cooperate.

Jacob and I made this delicious chocolate/peanut butter dessert for Daddy.

On Sunday evening we went to Aunt Laura & Uncle Al's house to celebrate Father's Day and Uncle Matt's birthday. It was so fun to see family! Jacob loved swimming in the pool and jumping on the trampoline.

I am so thankful for Scottie and the father he is to our children! He loves them unconditionally and works so hard to provide for them. Jacob and Lydia sure do love their daddy (and so do I)!

I'm also so grateful for my own dad and all the ways he's invested in my life and loved me! It's so fun and special to see him as a grandpa!

In honor of Father's Day, here are some of my favorite Daddy pics!

Summer is Here!

Summer is here, and we're loving it! A couple of weeks ago, we went swimming at our friends' (Jack & Kate) house. Jacob absolutely loved it! He wanted to jump in, float, and put his face in the water. This is such a change from last year! I don't have any pictures, because I had my hands full holding Lydia and watching Jacob in the water.

We went swimming again that weekend at Patton Pool in Hendersonville. Jacob had so much fun! He stayed in the water for a full 2 hours!

We had a picnic afterwards! It was a great afternoon together!

Scott and I decided that Jacob should have a buzz cut for the hot summer months. We go to a little walk-in barber shop in Fletcher, and the day we went was super busy. Only one barber was working and there was a line. We ended up waiting about an hour and a half. Jacob didn't mind though, because they have lots of fun toys. And of course Lydia was happy to be along for the ride! The actual buzzing wasn't quite so pleasant. Jacob was scared of the clippers and screamed hysterically the whole time. However, the end result is pretty cute!

The short hair comes in very handy when Jacob "works" in the garden. He loves playing in the dirt and comes away covered from head to toe.

Along with playing in the garden, Jacob has been loving his balance bike! He rides every chance he gets! It was a great birthday gift from Mama Dot!

We've had fun visits with family so far this summer. Uncle Thomas, Aunt Ryan, and Baby Wade were in town for a Lasher Family Reunion, and we got some cousin time in, too! I love the pics of Uncle T and Jacob! Scott may or may not have picked out the Tarheel outfit.

Grandma and Grandaddy came for a quick visit a couple of weeks ago. We were all set for a picnic at the park when a thunderstorm rolled in, so we had a garage picnic instead!

Papa came to visit this past weekend. We tried out a new ice cream place near our house. And aside from Jacob eating part of a plastic spoon, it was great!

We stopped by Meme's office one morning while we were out running errands. Lydia had a diaper malfunction, and of course it was the one time I didn't have extra clothes or diapers, which is why she's dressed in Jacob's!

Lydia is loving summer, too! She's been busy scooting on her bottom across the floor and eating teething wafers!

And here are a few other pictures from the past weeks...
