Lydia's 2nd Birthday Party!

With an OINK and a MOO
and a COCK-A-DOODLE-DO,
Lydia Kate is turning TWO!

We celebrated Lydia's 2nd birthday with family and friends this weekend. Lydie is all about animals right now, so we had a barnyard-themed party!

And since biscuits are one of her favorite food groups, we set up a yummy biscuit (or as Lydie says, "bic-it") bar!

Lydia was so excited to have her grandparents and GG at her party! She gave us some sweet birthday smiles!

She also had lots of fun playing with her little friends. Looking at his picture I realized she was the only girl!

The highlight of the party for her was definitely the cake! For weeks Lydia has been talking about singing "Happy Birthday," blowing out her candles, and eating "choc-it" cake! Whenever someone asked her what she wanted for her birthday she always said, "Umm...CAKE!" She has her daddy's sweet tooth!

Lydia had a little stage-fright when everyone started signing to her! So.much.pressure! :)

But she recovered quickly and got to work on that icing!

She also loved opening presents, and big brother was more than willing to assist.

Papa surprised us by finding Mommy's old doll stroller and giving it to Lydia! My grandma gave me this stroller for either my birthday or Christmas the year I was two. I'll have to see if I can dig up some old pictures!

Papa was full of fun surprises, as he brought Mommy an early birthday present - a singing Christmas dog! Lydia thought it was hilarious! I found it slightly less hilarious after hearing Feliz Navidad 36 times! ;)

We had such a great time celebrating our sweet girl and are so grateful for the wonderful friends and family to love her so much.

Halloween 2017

We had so much Halloween fun this year!!!

Jacob's school had a Fall Festival the Friday before Halloween, and Lydia and I volunteered at one of the game booths. Jacob said the tattoo table was his favorite booth and loved showing off his "girl power" tat afterwards!

On Halloween Day, Jacob and his classmates all wore their costumes to school and had a fun party with lots of spooky treats. We made Frankenstein rice crispy treats!

The weekend before Halloween we went to the Fletcher Fall Festival. It was moved from the park to a gym due to rain, and while it was incredibly hot and shoulder-to-shoulder crowded, Jacob declared it the best Fall Festival ever!

The kids loved helping carve our pumpkin! Lydia wasn't as enthusiastic as Jacob, but she was very excited about the finished product.

And, finally, Halloween night!!!

The excitement level in our house was definitely off the charts! At one point, both kids were jumping up and down squealing, "I CAN'T WAIT!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!" Jacob was just as excited about handing candy out as he was, as Lydie says, "treating." He eagerly waited at the door for "customers" to arrive!

We had so much fun trick-or-treating in our neighborhood!

And of course the best part was picking out a special candy to eat before bed!

Holidays are so much fun with little kids! Watching their anticipation and excitement over Halloween makes me really excited about Christmas this year! Its going to be wild, I'm sure!!!
