Merry Christmas!!!
Christmas becomes more and more fun each year! The kids are at such great ages; they're old enough to really enjoy and anticipate Christmas, and still young enough to believe in the magic of it all! Both were about to burst with excitement when Christmas Eve finally arrived! We'd had the best time with the Baden Family over the weekend, but were excited to be at home with just our little family for Christmas Eve and Day. It was nice to slow down a little bit and really soak in the joy of Christmas with our children!
We enjoyed a quiet, slow morning together and then Meme joined us in the afternoon to bake our Christmas cookies, which has been a tradition since I was a little girl.
After baking cookies, we headed to the Christmas Eve Service. Our church had three services, one of which was geared towards children. It was full of carols, lessons, and fun surprises for the kids. It was so nice to relax and not worry about the kids being disruptive since the sanctuary was full of other very excited children, too!
Back at home it was time to put on our Christmas jammies and decorate the cookies we had baked earlier in the day. Lydia hooked Santa up with lots and lots and lots of icing!!!
After choosing cookies for Santa, the kids went outside to scatter "Reindeer Munch" for Rudolph and his friends. They also ran a few laps around the yard, as the excitement level was pretty high!
We set out Santa's snack and then it was time for bed. I'm not sure how they managed to fall asleep!
Christmas Morning!
The kids didn't wake up super early on Christmas morning...Merry Christmas to Mom and Dad! They were so excited to check out the fun stuff Santa left in their stockings! It seems like this is always one of their favorite parts!
They also had to check their stuffed animals' stockings! Mickey, Minnie, Monkey, Girl Baby, Fairy, and Plumpier all got candy canes!
We spent the morning opening and playing with gifts!
After a morning of opening presents, eating sausage balls and cinnamon rolls, and a nap, we headed over to Aunt Laura's house in Weaverville for Christmas dinner with Scott's family.
Christmas Day was such a special time spent together and with family. We're so grateful for another wonderful holiday together, full of lots of laughs and memories! Merry Christmas!!!
