June 2020

Last Day of School
Even though Jacob finished his "Learn from Home" school work before Memorial Day, the official last day of school was Friday, June 5th. We still took our last day of school pictures even though we haven't been in the school building since March. I love comparing the last day pictures to the first day pictures. It always surprises me to see how much the kids have grown and changed over the course of the school year.

Jacob was sad to miss out on all the fun end of the year activities and celebrations, and he's also really missed seeing his teacher and friends. He was so excited to see Ms. Haney when we drove through to  pick up his things. She was such a kind, loving teacher and I'm so glad Jacob got to be in her class, even if it was only for three-fourths of the year!

Summer at Home
We've settled into a slightly more lazy summertime routine as we continue to stay at home. Even though Jacob doesn't have assignments to complete and turn in, we've continued to do some fun activities and lessons together. He loves learning and it gives us something to do. Thank goodness for Pinterest ideas!

The kids love playing outside riding bikes, playing hide-n-seek, and playing on the playset. They've also started a car wash business and take-out restaurant. So far, their only customer has been Meme, but they have high hopes of expanding in the future!

We also all really enjoy continuing to work in our gardens and tend to our flowers. Everything is growing and thriving. The kids love picking and eating peas and it won't be long before we start getting vegetables from all our other plants.

Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to Daddy! We celebrated our favorite guy with Reese's Peanut Butter Pie, a pancake breakfast, a garage picnic, and a family movie night.

The kids also made coupon books and pictures from Daddy! We love him so much and are so grateful that he's ours!

Baby Update
Its hard to believe that our new baby girl will be here in less than 3 months!!! Even though I'm still having nausea, my pregnancy is going well and I love feeling her move all the time. The kids love watching my stomach bounce around and are convinced she moves more when they talk and sing to her. I had my first in-office appointment this month since I went at 15 weeks. I went in around 28.5 weeks for my glucose test, TDAP vaccine, and Rhogam shot. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat and measured perfectly at 29 weeks. For the next 8 weeks I'll have an appointment every two weeks and will alternate between telehealth and in-person visits. After that I'll start going weekly until she's born.

Being at home has given us a lot of time to prepare for her arrival. We've sorted through all the baby clothes and gear, have set up the changing table in our bedroom and cleaned out and set up the smaller closet for her in our room. We've also chosen a first name and are still deciding between two for her middle name. We'll wait to share with everyone else once she's born!
