February 2020

Baby Update

I mostly spent the month of February in a miserable nauseous haze. I had a hard time even getting out of bed most days. Meme was such an incredible help and I don't know what we would have done without her. Many days I dropped the kids off at her house after school and she fed them dinner before Scott picked them up on his way home. She also made dinner for Scott and either fixed or picked up whatever I thought I could possibly eat. On weekends she kept one or both kids at her house so I could rest and Scott could catch up on all the household chores I couldn't do during the week. It was a really hard time. Having experienced this in my previous pregnancies, I knew it would eventually pass and there was little I could do except get through it. Natural remedies and even medications have never really given me much relief.

However, seeing our little baby and hearing his/her heartbeat for the first time made the sickness all worth it! I was 9 weeks when I went to my first appointment on February 4th. I can't even describe the relief, gratitude, and love I felt when I saw our little tiny baby on the screen. Hearing the heartbeat was the sweetest sound! I even got to watch him/her wiggle around, which the technician said is something you don't always see on an early ultrasound. It was such a special day!

Father-Daughter Dance
Lydia and Daddy had so much fun at the Fletcher Father-Daughter Dance again this year. Thankfully Lydia was more willing to go with Daddy than she was last year! She loved getting dressed up and dancing the afternoon away!

100th Day of School

Jacob celebrated his 100th day of school this month. Like last year, he dressed as a 100 year old man to celebrate the milestone! He said that he wanted to dress just like Grandaddy!!!

Snow
Sadly, we didn't get a good snow in February either. However, we did have one kind of snowy day. The kids didn't seem to mind though. They had as much fun in half an inch as they would have in a foot! They loved sledding in our yard, as well as on a bigger hill up the street. Hopefully we'll have better snow luck next year!
