Christmas Preparations

Our December was filled with so much festive fun! Jacob and Lydia were so excited and really enjoyed all the festivities this year. We kicked things off by attending the Fletcher Christmas Tree Lighting on the Thursday after Thanksgiving. Everyone enjoyed looking at the lights, eating cookies and hot chocolate, and chatting with Santa! Jacob worked really hard writing his list for Santa and gradually inched his way closer to the big guy. Lydia enjoyed him from afar.

We loved hanging out with Kason and Nolan while we were there!

Making Christmas cookies with Meme is another one of our favorite traditions! These cookies are the absolute best. You'll seriously never put anything better in your mouth! I have such special memories making them on Christmas Eve when I was a little girl, and its so fun to share the tradition with my children.

Jacob had so many fun Christmas activities at school this year - making Gingerbread Houses, Polar Express Day, Secret Santa Book Exchange, a Christmas Party, and his Christmas Program. His class worked so hard on their songs and did such a good job performing them for us! Jacob told me beforehand that he was going to sing, but he wasn't going to do the commotions.

Jacob also worked very hard on Christmas presents for his extended family. We made salt dough star, Christmas tree, and Santa ornaments. He was so proud of them and loved handing them out to everyone. It was so sweet to watch!

Jacob also shopped for Christmas presents for our immediate family. My friend Julie gave me the idea to take him to the Dollar Tree, and it was so fun! I gave him five, one dollar bills to put in his wallet and told him he could pick out one thing for each person in our family. He took his task very seriously and spent quite some time walking up and down the aisles trying to find the perfect presents. He ended up getting Lydia a rubber duckie, Daddy a pack of M&Ms, Mommy a pack of dominos, and a puppy coloring book for Monkey! He loved handing his money to the cashier and getting his change and receipt back from her.

And I have to include these pictures of the Baden Cousins in their Christmas jammies that we took during Thanksgiving!
