Birthday Celebrations

We had a fun Saturday full of birthday celebrations! Jacob and I headed out early in the morning to go to Kernersville for Zander's 4th birthday party. We had so much fun playing at the park, eating cake, and looking at the ducks and geese. It was a beautiful morning! Scott decided to stay back with Lydia. She's not very happy in her car seat for extended amounts of time, and we felt like the quick day trip would be a little too much driving for her. While it would have been great to spend the day together, it was kind of fun for us to each have one-on-one time with the kids. I think it was also good for Jacob and Lydia to have some time apart. They've been having a hard time sharing and getting along lately. I was definitely relieved to have a break from all the screaming, snatching, and crying. They truly love each other, but man, their strong-willed personalities definitely clash lately!

Megan and I thought we might get a good picture of us and the boys this year. You can see how that worked out! :) I can't believe its been four years since Zander was born, with Jacob following 3 weeks later. Its been so special to share the motherhood experience with Megan and for our boys to grow up together!

This was the sweetest little hug!

After Zander's party we headed back west with a stop in Morganton to eat for Uncle Andrew's birthday. We met my family at Judges for an early dinner.

Baby Wade is getting so big! He loves to hold someone's hands and walk around. I think he's going to take off before his birthday!

Jacob and Wade loved being silly together. I can tell these two are going to keep things interesting for us in the future!

I don't usually get the chance to hold Mr. Wade. Lydia is a bit territorial and doesn't like to share Mommy with anyone else. But since she was at home with Scott, I was able to steal a few minutes with my busy little nephew!

A few other pictures from our week...

Garbage day never disappoints!

Lydia hates wearing shorts. She throws a colossal tantrum any time I put them on her. One day last week she brought me a pair of Jacob's undies and said, "Help! Help!" I was trying to get some things done and thought "whatever" and put them on over her shorts. Later on we needed to run some errands and she refused to let me take them off of her. So I took her out and about like this. Just let me know where I can pick up my Mother of the Year Award! ;)
