Family Fun!

We were so excited to have a long weekend with some of our extended family! Aunt Sarah, Amberly, Caroline, and Audrey came to visit us from Kentucky. The girls were on Spring Break and we are so glad they chose to spend some of it with us. Everyone had so much fun together, especially Jacob and Audrey, who quickly became best buddies!

On Friday we took the kids to Hands On. We haven't been in a while, and Jacob was so excited to go! I was too, until I got a 25 dollar parking ticket. My meter had only been expired for 15 minutes. I don't know when Hendersonville became so strict about parking!

Audrey and Jacob set up a lovely dinner table. Lydia had to sit at the kid table!

On Saturday we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at Fletcher Park. We saw the Easter Bunny, played on inflatables, and of course hunted for eggs!

It was chilly in the morning, so my mom decided wearing a blanket was acceptable.

Jacob was delighted to find treats in his eggs! We've been hiding eggs all week at home, but ours are empty.

On Saturday evening we went to dinner in Hendersonville and then to get some frozen yogurt. Scott and I realize that we've entered the "absolutely cannot take the baby to a restaurant and expect to enjoy it" phase with Lydia. I knew we were getting there, but last night confirmed it. I guess its back to carry-out for the foreseeable future!

All the fun we had this weekend helped distract me from being so sad about our neighbors moving to South Carolina. We met the Hayes Family about the time their oldest, Benjamin, was born and have grown to have a special friendship with them. Krista and I have become very close, and I'm really going to miss having her right up the road. While I'm so thankful for the many Mommy friends I have near and far, its been so wonderful to have a close friend so close by to help break up the days that can often feel lonely for me. I know this is the right thing for their family and that we'll remain good friends, but I can't help but feel so, so sad. Before they moved this week, we celebrated Benjamin's 3rd birthday with a Mickey Mouse cake! I can't believe he's such a big boy these days!

This sassy girl is 17 months old today! Lydia, "Bebe," and I went grocery shopping while Jacob was at school this week. She cracks me up with her sunglasses. She rarely leaves home without them, as well as her purse and baby. She is a girly-girl for sure!

We gave story time another try. Jacob has always hated it, and he threw a big fit about going, but ended up liking the craft. Lydia thought she was a big girl sitting at the table with Jacob and Ceci! I think we'll try to go again next week!
