Flooding, Family, and Flu Shots!

Rain is definitely one thing we haven't lacked this fall. The kids had a day off of school this October due to flooding. Even though our power flickered, it remained on and we decided to take advantage of a cozy rainy day together by baking banana bread, going for a rain walk, and watching movies together. We couldn't believe how high the water from the creek rose or the number of trees and limbs that fell on the walking trail. We're thankful the storm wasn't worse, as it was for many others.

The following weekend we spent the day at Cattail to celebrate (Great) Uncle Joe's 70th birthday. After all the rain earlier in the week, it was a beautiful fall day. The kids loved throwing rocks in the creek and playing with their cousins.

I'm proud to say that both kids were so big when it came to flu shots this year! No tears from anyone! They got to pick a special treat for being so brave.

And I have to share these sweet pictures of Lydia. She is looking so grown-up these days!
