Valentines Day 2019

Father Daughter Dance

Lydia and Daddy attended their first Fletcher Father-Daughter Dance!

Lydia excitedly anticipated the dance for weeks. She picked out her dress, bow, shoes, tights, and we even painted her nails for the occasion.

It was a bit surprising when she decided at the last minute that she didn't want to go. Well, she wanted to go, just not with Daddy! She's always been Mommy's girl and threw a tantrum when it was time to go, because she wanted me to go with her. (Poor Daddy!) However, she ended up going with Daddy and said she had the best time. She's already talking about going again next year!

While Daddy and Lydia were at the dance, Jacob and I spent some time together making "Mother-Son Banana Bread," as he called it. He really wanted to have a "Mother-Son Lemonade Stand," but it was a little cold outside.

Earlier in the day before the Father-Daughter Dance, we went to a Valentine's Crafting morning at the library. They had a huge table filled with craft supplies and the kids had a great time making whatever they chose. Both made some Valentines, and Jacob made a behavior chart for our family. I guess he's going to have us all walking the line!

Valentines Day

Our little family loves holidays, and Valentines Day is no exception! I made a quick trip to the dollar store earlier in the week to decorate the table for breakfast. I attempted to make heart shaped pancakes like I did last year, but somehow I just ended up with heart shaped blobs. Oh well. You win some. You lose some!

I did manage to cut the kids sandwiches into heart for lunch and we enjoyed a heart cookie cake after dinner. It was a fun, love-filled day!
