Our Two Year Old!

Dear Jacob,

Happy 2nd Birthday! It has been so fun to watch you grow into your own little person over the past two years. When we look back at your newborn pictures, its hard to believe you were ever that tiny.

At two years old you weigh about 28 pounds and stand 36 inches tall. Since day one, you've been long and lean. I'm afraid finding a proper fitting pant will be a life-long challenge for you! :)

Your lean, little body is certainly not from a lack of eating. Even though you don't exactly make meal planning easy for me these days, you definitely have your favorites. While you've never met a berry you didn't like, blueberries (boo-bees) are your number one pick. You never pass up a bowl (or ten) of mac-n-cheese (gee-gee), and you absolutely love milk (mulk).

Anyone who spends any amount of time with you knows you love cars, trucks, buses, and airplanes (air-poos)! Right now you are specifically into fire trucks and school buses. Some of your other loves include "Baby Henny" and "Big Henny" (stuffed kitties), your poppy, the moon, Ingles, and the book "Little Blue Truck". Your favorite place to be is outside, playing with your cozy-coupe car.

I know it sounds cliché, but you truly are a little sponge right now! Sometimes you say or do something, and I have no idea where you even learned it. At two years old, you can identify most colors and some shapes, attempt to count to three, and talk non-stop! You say new words every single day and have been putting phrases and short sentences together for some time now.

Socially, you're a bit cautious when it comes to new people and places. It takes you a while to warm up to strangers or even family and friends you haven't seen in a while. You stick pretty close to me until you've had time to get comfortable, but once you are, your chatterbox side comes out in full force!

You make every day so wonderfully full, and it really is hard to remember what life was like before you came. We love you so much are excited to continue to watch you grow in the coming years!
