After a fun-filled holiday season, we were happy to settle in back at home! While the winter months were pretty uneventful for us, we were able to enjoy some snow days, time with friends, and time together, which was really quite perfect!
After Jacob was born I quit my teaching job to stay home with him full-time. As a way to bring in some income, I started keeping another little guy, Kason. Since last spring, Kason has typically stayed with us a day or two a week. Karen (his mom) and I have become close friends and the boys always have a blast together! We were super excited when they welcomed new baby brother, Nolan, in February!
I also kept a little girl, Hattie Grace, between January and June. Jacob loves "Ha-ee" and even though we haven't seen her in a while, he still talks about her constantly. Hattie is about 8 months younger than Jacob, and I think he enjoyed bossing her around, I mean the "leadership" role he had as the older kid on the block! :)
On days that I wasn't keeping other children, Jacob and I usually visited Hands-On, the Mountain Play Lodge, story time at the library, or just played outside. Our neighborhood has nice walking trails, a playground, and a creek - all of which Jacob loved!
We were very excited to have a few good snow storms this year. Jacob was fascinated by watching the snow fall, but wasn't as crazy about actually playing in it. He eventually decided it was okay, as long as no snow got in his mittens, boots, or basically touched any part of his skin. By the way, it is almost impossible to keep mittens on a toddler's hands!
To close out the post, I thought I'd include a few more pictures from the winter months. As you can see, Jacob was not interested in making Valentine Cards this year.
When I was 38 weeks pregnant, I decided we needed to redo our bathrooms. Well, almost two years and countless headaches later, we finally have a shower again in the Master Bathroom!
This kid loves to climb! One of his new tricks this winter was to move the kitchen chairs so he could reach things on the counter. He likes to keep things interesting around here.
And I have to brag on Scottie. He occasionally does have a romantic side! :) We did not get to celebrate our sixth anniversary in December, because we picked up a terrible stomach virus at the Bradley Family Christmas gathering. We did have an anniversary date night in January, but we forgot to take any pictures. So I thought I'd share this picture instead. These flowers were just because!
