Summer Fun!!!

Summer is in full-swing around here! Lydia has been working on potty training and is doing great! She's been using the potty to pee-pee before nap and bed for about six months now, so losing the diaper the rest of the time didn't seem to be such a big deal to her. She had couple of accidents the first day, but has stayed dry since. Poo-poo is a different story, but I'm honestly not stressed about it. Having gone through what I did training Jacob, I know it will come eventually. She did poo-poo in the potty once, which resulted in strawberry ice cream...at 9am!

We've been filling our days together with trips to the Nature Center, story time at the library, and lots of time outside with friends.

Last weekend we splurged on a few special treats as a belated birthday celebration for Daddy. We went to Duck Donuts, White Duck Taco, and Pelican's SnoCones...all in one day!

Last Monday we went to Black Mountain to visit with GG, Grandma & Grandaddy, and Craig, Lori, & Mae! We had a great morning of playing and just catching up together. The kids thought Mae was so cute and you could tell how badly she wanted to be running around with them. I have a feeling she might be doing just that when we go to the beach in July!

And we have carrots!!! Jacob was so proud to pull a real-live, triangle carrot out of the ground!
He has been dreaming of this for months and his dream finally came true. We're really excited for our summer vegetables to start coming in now!

Kentucky Trip 2018

We kicked summer off with a trip to Kentucky. Both of my grandmothers are not really able to make the long to trip to North Carolina anymore, so my brother and I decided to take the kids to see them. We were able to stay together with our Aunt Sarah and Uncle Dan.

On Friday we gathered at my Uncle Benny and Aunt Kathy's house for a visit with my Grandma. She's really struggled since my Grandpa died in February, and seeing the kids really seemed to lift her spirits.

We went to Mama Dot's house Saturday morning and even took a little trip to the pool.
