End of May

Jacob was such a big boy at his 5 year well-check. He had to get two shots and didn't even cry. He actually barely even flinched. We've come a long, long way! As a reward, we had a little dinner date at Chick-fil-la.

Summer weather means its time for summer hair cuts! Instead of going to the barber shop, Daddy did the honors. Jacob was super excited about it.

Jacob was so excited about "Donuts with Dad" morning at school. Lydia was also really excited until she realized she wasn't invited. I ended up taking her to Dunkin Donuts and story time at the library.

For weeks we had been looking forward to spending Memorial Day Weekend with Daddy's family at Cattail. Unfortunately, Jacob came down with a terrible stomach virus the Thursday before. Poor little guy ended up vomiting and having diarrhea for the next three days. And even more unfortunately, everyone else in our house ended up getting sick, as well. Scott and I both agree that we've never been so sick in our lives. Thank goodness for Meme! She dropped her plans and saved the day by taking Lydia to her house on Saturday. There was no way Scott or I could take care of her. (She didn't end up sick until early Sunday morning.) We're also so grateful for our neighbor Ms. Toni, who made a store run for us. We were so disappointed to miss out on all the family fun, but there was no way we could have gone. It was definitely not the way we pictured spending our long weekend. Being sick always makes me grateful for being healthy!

Poor Daddy's birthday was overshadowed by our illness. Thankfully we had a little party the night before he and I got sick. I made his favorite dinner and cake, which is kind of unfortunate considering we ended up throwing it all back up...doesn't have the same appeal that it used to! But we had a fun time giving him presents and singing Happy Birthday! We had planned to go out to breakfast on the way to Cattail, but that will have to wait until another time.

A few pictures after our recovery...
