Happy Easter!!!
Our Easter was filled with time with friends and family, picnics, egg hunts, Holy Week coloring, and of course lots of candy! So much fun!!!
Lydia and I helped out at Jacob's school for his class's egg hunt and Easter party. We arrived a little early and got to watch Jacob lead group time. I love seeing him interacting with his teachers and friends. He's such a big boy these days!
Lydia loved being in Jacob's class, too. She looked so proud watching him. She also looked so big sitting at the table. I can't believe she's going to start preschool in the fall!
The teachers were so kind to let Lydia join in on the egg hunt. She was a little slower than the big kids. After the hunt Jacob's classmates noticed and shared their eggs with her. It was the sweetest thing. (Side Note...Jacob did not feel compelled to share his eggs with her!)
It was such a fun morning, but also a little sad, because it was Mrs. Angela's last day. She has a great opportunity to move to her children's school and we're so happy for her, but so sad for us! Jacob says he's going to write her letters every day.
We went to our church's pancake breakfast and egg hunt on Saturday. The Gentilcore Family and Meme joined us and we had a great time hanging out together.
Boy Mom vs. Girl Mom
That evening we dyed eggs. Luckily I took a few pictures before everything went down the toilet. I think next year we'll find an alternative activity.
We had a perfect Easter Sunday together! The kids were so excited to see the goodies in their baskets, hunt for eggs in the living room, and eat biscuits for breakfast.
They looked so sweet in their Easter outfits. We had a beautiful church service, and as always, Jacob kept things interesting. As we were leaving, Pastor asked Jacob how he was doing. Jacob's response: "Well, pretty good. Except all that loud talking you did today has really given me a headache."
Meme joined us for a delicious Easter lunch, which I completely forgot to take a picture of. (Ooops.) It was a gorgeous day, so we spent the afternoon outside playing and of course hunting more eggs!
Jacob also really enjoyed doing his Holy Week Coloring Book, or as he calls it, his "Jesus Coloring Book." Each day had a picture that matched scripture from the Jesus Storybook Bible. Jacob colored while I read the stories and we talked about the true reason we celebrate Easter. While he doesn't really understand yet, we're planting seeds in his mind and heart. Its our prayer that he one day truly knows Jesus's love and sacrifice for him.
